I thought Ugly Betty was a great show. How refreshing to see someone who is naive, idealistic and unique not only survive but succeed in the Fashion World. Well, that was before this week’s episode, Bad Amanda, aired on December 4. Condoning “wardrobing” and Plada is just not cool. As a designer and a retailer I am doubly annoyed by the storyline. It is not fun to buy something, wear it and then return it for a refund. It is not right. And buying knock-offs on Canal Street? Betty, please, girl, get it together! It is against the law!

Gorgeous vintage 14k Gold Yellow Gold, Rubies and 14k White Gold buckle ring. Circa 1930’s, it is a size 5. In perfect vintage condition, marked 14k on the inside of the shank.
Buckle jewelry is highly collectible and very hard to find. Victorian jeweler really made good use of this design. Although this is not a Victorian piece, it has true staying power. As I sit here working on my site, I overhear the news broadcast and the BBC mention of the passing of Tim Russert. I thought I could not possibly add to what is being said by professionals who have worked with him for so many years. Neither do I have the proper words that I could offer to loved ones, words are not enough.
I will miss him too. A true reporter, a true human being and a true patriot, he has touched so many lives in so many ways.
