Antique Art Nouveau Filigree Jade Glass Paste Bracelet
Intricately detailed brass filigree and Jade Peking Glass antique Art Deco bracelet. Meant to be worn hi up on the arm, can also be worn as a bangle. This stunning piece is wide and bold, yet delicate and feminine.
It’s airy construction includes a center piece in geometric screen. The foundation is created by using thick wire to form the basic structure upon which all the details are layered. Each detail is applied individually, definitely not a mass produced piece.
The Matte Gold Finish has mellowed over the years to that beautiful shade we love so much. There is no discoloration or oxidation on the metal. It was very well cared for and is in remarkable condition for it’s estimated age.
The center stone is 17mm in diameter and set with a beautifully ornate rivet. The smaller ones are round cabochons and measure 3 and 5mm. The bracelet is 55mm or 2 3/16″ at the widest point, tapering to 1/4″ in the back. There are beautifully detailed appliqués where the joints meet, so no soldered joints are visible.
Bracelet is 8″ long and can be made wider by separating the ends and smaller by very carefully overlapping them.
This beauty is probably French as all the measurements are exact in the metric system. Circa 1890’s, I’d say it’s Art Nouveau and it is in mint condition.
